The 2020 NFL season is in full swing. Although the game hasn’t changed, it has been a new experience for teams this season due to COVID-19. There are many changes to teams and players and many stadiums don’t allow fans, or have a limit to how many are allowed in. COVID-19 has also been a roadblock to many teams’ schedules because some players and staff can catch the virus, causing the team to quarantine up to ten days.

As the 2020 season kicked off, many teams showed they have what it takes to be in the Super Bowl while others struggle to win. The Pittsburgh Steelers are dominating the American Football Conference (AFC), and remain undefeated while the National Football Conference (NFC) has the Green Bay Packers leading the conference. So far, the most disappointing division is the NFC East, as none of the four teams (Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Football Team, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants) have done well.

Some exciting news has happened recently with some big names in the NFL. Le’Veon Bell, a superstar running back, has recently signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. He signed for the rest of the season, as his main purpose is to help the Chiefs become back-to-back Super Bowl champs. Antonio Brown is another who has signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown won’t be able to play until after week eight due to a suspension.

“I think the receiver position is really a position of strength on our offense, and how Antonio fits into that is going to be up to him and the role that he can create for himself which we all know of what he’s capable of when he’s playing,” said Tom Brady, quarterback for the Buccaneers.

Micheal Loucks, a friend of mine, thinks the most dominant team in the NFL is the Chiefs. He then said, “With Le’veon Bell now on the Chiefs roster, they have too many weapons on the field for any other team to control.” The Chiefs had won last year’s Super Bowl with their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and their fast offense gameplans. Now they have added another superstar to their line-up which can only positively impact them.

The Dallas Cowboys had an upsetting night in week five against the Giants even though they pulled out a win. The Cowboys starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, had a season ending injury. He suffered a compound right ankle fracture and dislocation when his right ankle was caught awkwardly underneath him, shifting his lower leg/ankle area at an unnatural angle. The Cowboys now have to rely on their backup, Andy Dalton, to get them through the rest of the season.
