Korean-American Chloe Kim is a snowboarding success. She earned a gold medal in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics at the age of 17. Kim would have entered the Olympics earlier if not for the minimum age requirement of 15 years old. Before turning 16 years old, Kim had become the only athlete in history of the X Games to win three gold medals. She has been described as a “child halfpipe prodigy”and was featured on the cover of “TIME” magazine being recognized on the list of “100 Most Influential People of 2018” and the magazine’s “25 Most Influential Teenagers of 2018”. Having started the sport when she was only 4 years old she is now the youngest female gold medalist in the history of Olympic snowboarding and achieved gold by being the first female to perform and land a front-side double cork 1080 in halfpipe. Kim attended Princeton University in 2019 and will continue her snowboarding career into the 2022 Beijing Olympics for Team USA.
