Bowling Recap

Last year, in its inaugural season, the Central York Bowling team won the state title. This year, the relatively young and inexperienced Panthers have continued to build a formidable and dominant program. Locally, they finished with a record of 10-2 in the YAIAA. Central swept several teams (Dallastown, New Oxford and Red Lion – each twice) by a match score of 5-0 while falling only to the Rockets from Spring Grove, yet still claiming first place in the county.

“We had to replace a lot of [graduating teammates], but the players on JV stepped up,” said junior Bryce Kline.

The only blemish on the way to winning a state title in 2022 was a second-place finish at the regional competition. In 2023, Central won the Eastern Regionals in Lancaster held mid-March.

“Being able to win it this year felt really good,” said junior Kamryn Brenneman.

The victory at regionals moved Central on to the finals held in Erie, Pa Friday, March 17. Central placed sixth missing out on advancing to the National tournament by six pins (points).
