Kyrie Irving got his wish of being sent away after not receiving a long term contract from the Nets front office that he liked. Irving got traded to the Dallas Mavericks Sunday, to join MVP frontrunner Luka Doncic in a chase to win the NBA Finals. The Mavericks will be sending Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 unprotected first-round pick, as well as 2027 and 2029 second round picks in a swap for Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris.

Irving recently requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, Friday Feb. 6, 2023. His preferred landing destinations were the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns.

“I will forever be grateful I got to live out my dream I had as a kid with y’all. It will always be love from me and my family,” Irving tweeted as a goodbye to the Brooklyn fanbase.
