During a crazy trade deadline, In a three team trade the Los Angeles Lakers acquire D’angelo Russell along with Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves received Mike Conely Jr., Nickeil Alexander-Walker and three draft picks from the Utah Jazz. Lastly, Jazz obtained former league MVP Russel Westbrook, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damian Jones and a draft pick from the Lakers.

Russell is going back to LA where his nine year career started. In the 2015 NBA draft Russell was picked second by the Lakers out of The Ohio State University. His career as a Laker only lasted two years before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets where he became an All-Star for the 1st time in his career. Now he has been given the chance to play with new NBA all-time scoring leader Lebron James back in the purple and gold.

“ I think it’s cool that DLo is back in LA, and it’s a shame the media is screwing Russ. I think he just needs to fine his own team,” said junior Boden Pease.
