“Cocaine Bear” is a thriller and action film that was released Feb. 24, 2023; it’s based on the 1985 true story of an American black bear that ingested millions of dollars worth of lost cocaine. 

    “Cocaine Bear unlocked a new fear for me,” stated CY graduate Emma Miller. 

    The movie, directed by Elizabeth Banks, depicts a drug-induced rampage based on this story in Georgia’s Chattahoochee National Forest.

    “Not one for violence or gore, I was surprised to find myself highly entertained and amused by this movie,” said Google review from Chris Howard. 

     This gory film strays from the truth for this effect. In reality, no casualties,besides the bear, were reported due to the narcotics.
