The boys varsity basketball team (20-8) placed first in Division 1 of the YAIAA. The team also worked their way through the county tournament beating Susquehannock, Eastern York and, for the third time in the same season, York High by a score of 85-71.

All year the Panthers have been highlighted by their run-and-gun, fast moving offense. With a talented roster and unique combination of size and speed, Central navigated the PIAA District III tournament to qualify for states.

Junior Greg Guidinger, sophomores Ben Natal and Ben Rill were each selected as First-Team All County All Stars and head coach Jeff Hoke was named Coach of the Year. Guidinger scored his 1,000th career point as well.

In the state tournament, Central was seeded 5th and took the 5th seed to compete against Spring Ford, the second seed out of District I. The Panthers’ season ended in the first round of the tournament after falling 56-46.

Next season, Central will bring back a talented group of players – players with lots of experience. Senior Ethan Dodson is the only departing member of the group.

“Our season was great, we worked really hard to get to where we are now,” said Dodson.
