A year of war between Russia and Ukraine

The Russia-Ukraine conflict really started in 2014, making the invasion premeditated.

 

On Feb. 24, 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine, starting around 5 a.m. missiles were launched on Ukrainian cities kicking off a war between the two nations that has been the biggest war in Europe since World War II. Tens of thousands of death’s were counted for both countries as the result of the war for the last year.

Ukraine has the latest despite being outmanned and outgunned. The Russians attempted to overthrow the government and take over the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, and the second largest city, Kharkiv. After weeks of fighting the Ukrainians held their ground forcing Russian forces to retreat.

Concluding all of the cities on the west coast bordering Russia, Ukraine had lost control of to the Russians. Although they were able to reclaim most of the cities bordering Russia to the north and around Kyiv, the fighting continues.
