Monday, March 27, 2023 the Covenant School, a Christian School in Nashville, lost 6 lives because of a shooting. Audrey Hale, 28, arrived at the school at about 9:53 a.m. carrying two “assault style weapons” and a handgun and killed 3 children, Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all nine years old, as well as three staff members, Mike Hill, Katherine Koonce and Cynthia Peak. Hale previously attended the school and police have stated they believe Hale did not target specific victims.

“As of now, motive hasn’t been identified,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland, including that the FBI was working with local police on the investigation.

Hale was fatally shot by police at 10:24 a.m. according to body cam footage.

“We can all agree on one thing: that every human has great value. And we will act to prevent this from happening again,” said Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.
