Optimist club continues to help the community
“We are CYSD Proud of these students for taking the initiative to develop this program to benefit members of our community,” stated the CYHS school board.

Optimist Club has created 11 birthday boxes this year in collaboration with Fostering Hope York to create birthday gifts for kids in foster care. The club collected toys, balloons and candy for the boxes as well as donated gift cards from local businesses.
“They [Fostering Hope] reached out to us with a need for these boxes…we put together these boxes through donations from the community and our club members, they have gift cards, brownie mix and all the kinds of things you’d need for a birthday party,” said club advisor Tara Goodrich.
