Hersheypark happy but not Hersheypark cheap. Believe it or not there are ways for people to avoid spending as much money and take advantage of discounts. People from all around come to spend a day at Hershey’s amusement park in Hershey, Pa and being an amusement park some things aren’t the cheapest.

“We avoid food in the park just due to cost,” said Mr. Jim Howard.

The park provides things like season passes and souvenir cups to help guests limit their spending at the park. A Hersheypark pass is a year round pass allowing customers to access the park all year round without paying for a ticket. Season passes can run anywhere from $150 to $240 depending on which pass the customer wants , they have different variety packs for people that meet their needs, like the Bite size, Full size and King size. These season pass packs include things like free access to the park in the spring and summer time, if you get the full size it includes more like free parking, getting into the park one hour earlier and 15% off food or drinks. The king size pass pack includes most and it has everything the bite size and full size along with being able to be first on the new jolly rancher attraction, percentage off food, drinks, retail and game.

“I’ve done season passes for my family for the last 10 years. If you go 2-3 times, it pays for itself plus you get free parking, early admission to the park, and discounts in the park and at chocolate world,” said Howard.

At the park it usually has a good amount of things that people can get on discount, the park has its own souvenir cup that customers see most people with at the park. When purchasing a cup people are welcome to refill their cups up every 10 minutes at any local restaurant or food place with a soda fountain. A cup usually is around $17.50-$18.00, it includes free drinks and slushies the day of purchase and $1.00 refills on future visits.

“When I go to the park I do usually end up getting a souvenir cup mainly because of the free drinks that whole day,” said sophomore Connor Shields.

With Hershey not being the cheapest, sometimes a lot of family, like to try and spend the whole day at the park. The park has a lot of things for a lot of kids, teens and adults. There are a total of 15 roller coasters alone, lots of rides, a waterpark, a zoo and a bunch of food places to dine at.

“I enjoy all of Hersheypark a lot, but my favorite place to go around the park would probably be the roller coaster.” said Shields.

Even though Hersheypark is not the cheapest, people can make many memories with their friends and family while riding the rides, relaxing, going to the water park, sitting down to eat or looking at the animals at Zooamerica.
