After several years with few staff changes and little turnover, the Central swimming and diving teams were led by a new coach this year. Despite being new, Head Coach Brandon Flynn has gotten off to a strong start in one area that matters most – team chemistry.

“When Coach Brandon Flynn came in, everything started to work really well and we had gotten a lot of success because of him,” said junior Evan Dame.

The team itself had notable success this season as well. Junior Christian Henry broke the school record for 100 breast with a time of 58.51 seconds and also has the fastest 50 fly with a 23.06 seconds. At the PIAA District III meeting, Henry also medaled by coming in third place in the 200 IM.

On the girls side, the team finished 3-2 in the YAIAA and were led by freshman Jayla and junior Mckenna Potteiger. Eckert propelled the 400 free relay team to a new school record and broke the pool record after swimming leadoff in relay.

The team placed 36th in the state meet after collecting 12 team points at the class 3A meet.
